A gallery show for Ann
Nov 27th, 2009 by Todd

Ellen’s sister Ann is a talented watercolor artist/painter, and she and her husband Dave are co-owners (with Dave’s brother) of two Greene’s Beans coffee shops in northern New Jersey. Today we helped Ann set up a gallery show of her work in their Sparta shop, shown above. In the morning we helped Ann price and label some paintings, then brought them over to the shop.

Here’s Ann with some of the paintings on one side of the rear lounge area of the shop. Many of these are actually multi-media collages.

On the opposite wall, behind the small music stage, are the rest of the paintings. She does some excellent work, and has won awards in several New Jersey art shows.

Much of her earlier work is similar to this realistic one called “Orchids,” though Ann often likes to use some Impressionistic techniques to balance the realism, too.

And the last three years or so Ann has been doing these multi-media collages as well. This is one of the nicest and most elaborate, titled “JRZGRL.” If, by any chance, you’re in the Sparta, New Jersey area, and would like to see the show, you can find Greene’s Beans at 31 Theatre Centre, phone 973-726-8800. I think you’ll be impressed with the work.
Todd, thank you very much for your help at the shop producing Ann’s art gallery. We all really like the excellent photos and I wonder if you’ll give me permission to use some or all of the pertinent ones on our Greene’s Beans website? We all appreciate your generous efforts to bring people to Ann’s show and to the cafĂ©.
May all your letters, graphics, logos and endeavors be blessed and may 2010 bring you and Ellen (and the kitties) joy, health, peace, and perhaps a new bird species or two (not the kitties).
Sure, Dave, and thanks!
