I continue to enjoy working on Fables a great deal, and it's amazing how far it's come, with well over 80 issues in print. Issue 50's extended wedding story was an especially good one, tying together lots of previous storylines, and bringing together the fan-favorite star couple in a very satisfying way.

And the Fables saga reached new heights in 2006 with the publication of the original graphic novel, Fables: 1001 Nights of Snowfall, with art by some of the industry's top talents, in a great story featuring Snow White in the role of Scheherezade, telling origin stories of familiar Fables characters to an Arabian Nights ruler, including her own.

Also in 2006, a spinoff series began, Jack of Fables, featuring everyone's favorite trickster bad boy, Jack Horner (also known as Jack of the Tales), co-written by Matthew Sturges, with art by Tony Akins. Jack's misadventures are just as much fun as the main series, and this book has also proved to be popular, with over 30 issues published.
©DC Comics, Inc. The most recent project in the Fables universe is The Great Fables Crossover, encompassing issues of Fables, Jack and a new mini-series, The Literals, all fine stuff. I hope and expect the Fables saga will long continue, and I know that Bill has lots more Fables stories to tell. I plan to stick with it as long as they'll have me. And if a few new lettering styles are called for here and there, will I remind Bill of his earlier request that we stick to "plain lettering"? Nope, not me.
