This issue is more focused than the last few, with all or nearly all the action taking place on Oa, the homeworld of the Corps. As in BLACKEST NIGHT, the odds of the Lanterns overcoming their black adversaries are slim, but they do battle with panache, and seem to have more success than anyone else in this crossover, at least for the moment. The Black Lanterns fight the good guys psychologically as well as physically, with some effect, but these heroes, including Guy Gardner, Arisia Rrab, Kyle Rayner and Killowog, plus some of the newer Lanterns featured in this book, give it back well, showing courage and heart. I have to say this is a much more interesting slugfest than this month’s BLACKEST NIGHT. Recommended.
