And Then I Read (in 1962): THE PHANTOM DEER


Okay, I’m being self-indulgent today, and the next two days, running these book reports from my childhood, but it’s buying me some blog time. I was eleven when I did this one, and I’m sure the cover was the most fun part, done with white chalk on dark green construction paper. Note the way I blurred it by rubbing on PHANTOM, a special effect! Here’s the report:


There you have it, misteaks and all. Still a book in my library, and a good one I might read again sometime soon, now that I’ve remembered how much I like it.
