The Phillies need only one more win to take the World Series, and early last night it looked like they were on the way, when Victorino batted in two runs. Then the rain came..and came…and came. The Rays battled back with two runs to tie the game in the 6th, then it was suspended, to be completed this evening, weather permitting. Rain is expected to continue all day today. And what a miserable night it was at the ballpark last night, I’m glad I wasn’t there. Here’s hoping for better weather and a win tonight!
I’m not a huge baseball fan, but I have been watching the Philadelphia Phillies fairly often this year, after catching the tail end of last year’s season. They started this year well, had a slump in August, and an up and down September, but finished strong to take their division. Now they’ve had two strong wins in the playoffs against the Milwaukee Brewers, with good pitching and great hitting and base-running, taking a 2 to 0 lead. One more win Saturday will finish the Brewers, then it’s on to a tougher team, the Los Angeles Dodgers, for the National League pennant. I’ll be watching!
