“At this stage I’m conscious about making sure the first speaker is on the left side of the panels and if he isn’t I have to carefully place the balloons so that he can be. Then I letter all the words in ink; you have to do the lettering first because it’s easier to adjust the size of a figure to fit than it is acceptable to alter the size of the lettering. And only then do I start properly organizing pictures.”
