Ice on the pond

A blast of wintry air is paying us an early visit this week. Glad I finished getting the leaves cleaned up and the flower beds cleared out Monday. Still need to get leaves out of the pond, but that will have to wait, obviously. Temperatures below freezing last night finished off the last of the annuals that were hanging on, the impatiens and begonias are now mush. Chance of snow flurries this week. The bird feeders are busier today than they’ve yet been. Well, it all averages out, we might well have balmy weather in December, at least briefly. This does put me in a holiday mood. Next week we’ll be making some Thanksgiving recipes that I’ll post here.
