Rereading: G.O. FIZZICKLE POGO by Walt Kelly

I remember the Geophysical Year of worldwide scientific research that ran from July 1957 to December 1958, mostly from articles in Life Magazine. Kelly has lots of fun with the idea of an 18-month year, and of course the Pogo gang gets all the wrong ideas about how to take part. The fourteenth Pogo trade paperback reprints daily Pogo strips from 1957-58, and includes topics like sending animals to the moon, digging a hole through the earth, giving butterflies false teeth, and a flea who wants to marry the hound dog. Good fun, and worth reading if you can find it.
